Porcelain Countertops.

Large-format porcelain panels mean fewer seams, no sealing and a surface that handles heat, UV and weather — indoors and outdoors.

Why homeowners choose PORCELAIN

Big panels, few seams, no upkeep.

Porcelain slabs are fired at high temperature into a surface that is completely non-porous — impervious to bacteria, rated for food safety, and needing no routine maintenance at all. It resists etching, staining and heat, and it is lightweight compared to natural stone.

The panels come in thicknesses from 6mm to 20mm. Thin 6mm sheets are made for wall cladding, shower surrounds and fireplace surrounds, and can often be installed over an existing surface, which keeps both cost and demolition waste down. Thicker panels handle countertops and islands with minimal seams. We work with Florim, Dekton by Cosentino, Neolith, Lapitec, MSI Stile, AtlasPlan, SapienStone, Infiniti and Stratus Surfaces.

Built to last

Why porcelain holds up.

Completely non-porous

Nothing penetrates the surface, so it never needs sealing and never stains.

Heat & UV resistant

Hot pans and direct sun are both fine, which is why it excels outdoors.

Large-format panels

Oversized slabs cover islands and full-height backsplashes with minimal seams.

6mm to 20mm thickness

Thin panels for walls, showers and fireplaces; thicker slabs for countertops.

Food-safe & hygienic

Smooth and impervious to germs and bacteria, rated for direct food contact.

Less demolition

Thin panels can often go over an existing surface, cutting time, cost and waste.

Good to know

Frequent Porcelain Questions:

Straight answers about sealing, durability, grades and cost.

No. Porcelain is fired non-porous all the way through the surface, so there is no routine maintenance — no sealing, no special cleaners. Soap and water is the whole program.

The surface is extremely hard, but like any hard material an exposed edge can chip under a sharp impact. This is why edge detail and fabrication matter: mitered edges and properly supported overhangs are the difference, and that is fabrication work our shop does in-house.

It is one of the best options available. Porcelain is UV stable, so it will not fade in sun, and it is unaffected by rain and freeze-thaw cycles — which matters in a Pacific Northwest winter.

In many cases, yes. Thin 6mm panels are designed for exactly this kind of overlay on walls, shower surrounds and fireplace surrounds, which reduces demolition, keeps material out of the landfill and shortens the project. We will confirm what is possible when we template.

Both are engineered and both are low maintenance, but porcelain is fired mineral with no resin, so it handles heat and UV far better. Quartz offers more depth of color and a wider palette of designer brands. For outdoor and high-heat use, porcelain wins outright.
