About Porcelain Slabs

Porcelain slabs are significantly lighter than natural stone slabs and tile. Their lighter weight allows for easy installation and along with their price, can result in lowered project costs when compared to traditional small format tile solutions in shower surrounds and other settings. Porcelain slabs are designed for quick installation over existing surfaces, which reduces the waste typically associated with installation.

Porcelain slabs are nonporous, etch and stain resistant, and heat resistant, making the material suitable for a variety of kitchen and bathroom projects in both commercial and residential properties. For bathrooms in particular, porcelain slabs are a good, and often times superior, substitute for natural stone slabs and tile. Whether used to create focal walls, handsome floors, striking backsplashes, or lovely durable countertops, Porcelain slabs provides the seamless look of continuous natural stone for a fraction of the cost of “stone”. Unlike natural stone, Porcelain slabs require no routine maintenance and because of their large formats are installed with minimal grout lines.

Porcelain slabs work almost anywhere a stunning surface is desired.

In large-format, porcelain panels are suitable for virtually every interior and exterior design project including flooring, accent walls, countertops, showers, backsplashes, and fireplace surrounds. Lightweight, yet durable, porcelain slabs are ideal for both new installations and remodeling projects because they can be installed over existing surfaces. The material allows you to create a beautiful new look, in a fraction of the time and for a fraction of the cost associated with buying and installing stone slabs and tile.

Porcelain slabs come in a variety of thicknesses ranging from 6mm to 20mm. 6mm thick slabs weighs a fraction of traditional tile and is often used for wall cladding, shower surrounds, and fireplace surrounds.

Most porcelain slabs are significantly easier to cut and install than standard tile; the slab’s light weight makes it suitable for a wide range of design projects and it tolerates heat, water, and outdoor conditions very well. Porcelain slabs are smooth, impervious to germs and bacteria, and are rated for food safety.

One of the drawbacks of standard tiles is the distracting number of grout lines that can disrupt a surface’s streamlined appearance. With these large format gauged porcelain slabs, you can create a near seamless appearance that promotes a sense of overall elegance, and which can incorporate both vertical and horizontal surfaces.
